Testimonial
During the Summer I spend as a Grass fellow I was surrounded by some of the most creative and productive neuroscientists (Scott Fraser, George Augustine, Joseph Margiotta) in North America. John Rubin was our clever and kind adviser. He arranged meetings for us with Steve Kuffler, John Nichols, Ken Muller, Steve Treistman and many other luminaries. Mary Grass visited almost weekly to chat and keep us aware we were part of the Grass "Family". That summer I conceived and wrote my first NIH grant that was funded shortly thereafter. My son Peter was born in Falmouth Hospital. We throughly thrashed the Neurobiology Course Softball Team. And Steve Zottoli and I wrote a one act play "Protein Synthesis is your Friend" (you can guess who was the happy little ribosome).
